Overview

Percam is a self-initiated concept: Odama’s reimagining of Loom, the video messaging tool for sharing quick recordings instead of writing everything out. We started from problems we hit while using the product ourselves, then explored how a recording app could feel faster and clearer to use.

The challenge

Recording tools ask people to think about capture, editing, and sharing all at once, which slows down what should be a two-second action. The exercise was to redesign that flow from a real user’s frustration, not a brief, and push a fresh UI direction while keeping it credible against a mature, well-funded product.

What we did

We ran an open design exploration across the recording app UI and its supporting website, from the library page to the core recording flow. We tested multiple UI directions, then built out detailed assets and a polished preview to show how the concept holds together end to end.

Outcome

  • A polished concept preview showing the redesigned recording flow end to end
