Where to Go is a mobile app that reimagines how people review and discover places. It blends the familiarity of location reviews with the visual, social feel of a photo feed, so friends can see where each other have been and make decisions from real images rather than dated, text-heavy listings.
The challenge
Place reviews today feel old and complicated, and they work poorly for a mixed audience of different ages and interests. The app needed an onboarding that quickly explained a new idea, a simple way to connect with friends and follow their visits, and a review experience anyone could enjoy. It also needed a personal, photo-led view of where people had been, built around the images they capture.
What we did
We designed a light, playful interface that pairs a warm salmon accent with clean white feeds and black buttons, letting the food and location photos carry most of the color. Rounded icons and buttons keep it friendly and approachable. We built out the full journey, from first-time onboarding and contact connection through the home feed, friends' visit details, comments, and a photo grid of everywhere they have been. A distinctive ratings guide, from star to shell, replaces the usual star scale with something warmer and more personal.
Outcome
End-to-end app flow designed, from onboarding to visit details
